Kheerganga vs Triund

Every place has its own beauty kheerganga and Triund both are the beauties of Himalaya and the most visited tourist attraction for trekking.kheerganga trek is all about the beauty of the waterfall, flowing river, landscapes, and some challenging landscapes. While triund trek is a mountainous climb, rocks and bewitching view from the top which makes it special.

Kheerganga and Triund, both the trekking destinations are in Himachal Pradesh so to reach kheerganga I took a bus from Delhi to Manali and get down at bhuntar. From there I got a local bus to barshaini and this is the nearest point from where you can start your trek; the nearest railway station is Chandigarh railway station and Joginder railway station by limited railway connectivity; bhuntar airport is the nearest with limited flights and Chandigarh international airport.

For triund, I have taken the bus from Delhi to Mcleodganj Which will take around 10-11hrs to reach and then you can opt for a cab or taxi.; Pathankot railway station is the nearest railway station; gaggal airport which is 17km away from Mcleod ganj.

Difficulty level of the treks

The difficulty level of both the trek is easy to moderate. This trek is for everyone. Just the basic physical fitness is required and you are good to go.

Best time to visit

The best time to visit kheerganga is all around the year except when there is heavy snowfall. April to November. I personally visited in the winters and enjoyed a lot there. Whereas the same thing for triund it is also enjoyable throughout the year at any time summers are the best time to come here an escape from the scorching sun that’s what I did and come in winters to have a totally different enchanting experience.

About the trek

Triund is the popular trekking destination in Dharamshala at an altitude of 2850m. Has the beautiful view of dhauladhar mountains and Kangra valley . on the way to your trek you will pass by beautiful oak trees, deodar, and rhododendron. the trek is 6km with the steepness in the last 1km of the trek. On reaching triund you can spot some glaciers and make the most of your trek.

For triund, I have hired the cab to gallu Mata temple. you can also start the trek from mcleodganj via dharmkot. The cab cost me around 300-400. It takes 4-5 hrs on average to reach the top. I was really enjoying the view as I am a nature lover also I found so many other trekkers on the way to chat a bit. There were two refreshment shops in between I had maggie to fuel myself and then moved ahead. the trail was well marked which made the trek hustle free and then finally I reached the top of triund and looked around the stunning view with clear blue sky refreshing air made me felt so light and happy. for stay purpose I have already booked a guest house to rest and spend some more time on thein the lap of beautiful mountains. I had delicious food at night and after that, I gazed at the twinkling stars and felt the magic of the place. And on the next day, I woke up early to catch the sunrise which was the great start for the day after spending some more time at triund and soaking every inch of the beauty of nature inside me then I packed my bags and descended back towards mcleodganj.

Kheerganga is a beautiful place in Parvati valley at an elevation of 2960m. It is believed that Lord Shiva meditated here for 3000years. And the water has healing property. it is s 4-5 hrs of trek 12km from the starting point near barshaini.

I have visited kheerganga with my friends in winters which gave me goosebumps because of the excitement to visit the place in winter and the winter season of course! We took a bus from to reach bhuntar from bhuntar we took a local bus to barshaini. On the next day, we started our trek at 8 am the are two trek routes one is the nakhthan village route that is from the left of the barshaini village and the other is from the tosh village from the right of the barshaini village. we took the second route the tosh route and this route was surprisingly good we got to see huts, pine trees and patches of snow all around, we interacted with some local people also stopped in a way to refresh ourselves with some tea and coffee. The amazing view of the mountains and forest is inescapable. We spotted so many waterfalls in between which gives the feeling of relaxation to the eyes. I felt a little panicked when we were about to reach as the trail is a bit steeper. But the beauty of nature can heal everything. I took a deep breath, sat for a while and moved forward. we reached the kheer Ganga at 1 pm. we saw the bunch of huts, small cafes, and temples around.on the top there was the hot water spring, I dipped my feet in the water and felt a sense of relief and happiness this is the perfect combination of cold winters and hot spring, we spent 3hrs There and then descended back with a wonderful experience.
