The SAT is a standardized test which is widely used for college admissions in the United States. Its full form is the Scholastic Assessment Test. The SAT is owned, developed, and published by the College Board, which is a private, not-for-profit organization in the United States. It has been administered by the Educational Testing Service on behalf of the College Board, which until recently developed the SAT as well. The test is intended to assess the student’s readiness for college.
The SAT was originally designed with high school curricula, but after some time, several adjustments were made for the version of the SAT introduced in 2016, and College Board president David Colman, has said that he also wanted to make the test reflect more closely what students learn in high school. Nowadays, there are so many coaching institutions available in different cities for the SAT. For example, SAT coaching in Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Ludhiana, Chandigarh, etc.
The SAT has been taken by high school juniors and seniors. They state that the SAT assesses how well the test-takers analyse and solve problems-skills they learned in school that they will need in college. The test has been taken under a tight time limit (speeded) which helps to produce a range of scores.
