Figuring out what to pack in that bag of yours can be super tricky, especially when you’re looking at a slammed day of work, exercise, social appointments and all the other life admin you have waiting for you the second you walk through the door. Just thinking about it is enough to make you stress, right? Hey, we’ve all been there, and luckily enough it’s been proven time and time again that the easiest way to get on top of all things organisation and just, well, life, is planning. Planning what you’re going to pack into your bag or pre-stashing the night before means you have one less thing to worry about when you’re running out the door in the morning. Everyone needs to stay hydrated, and if you’re going to get those recommended 3 litres a day in, you’re going to need some water on the go. Having a metal or ceramic water bottle on hand will also minimise your consumption of single use plastic, and it’s always important that we are conscious and do our part for our planet.

Laptop and Accessories

Maybe you won’t be using your laptop at work, but it is very useful to have on hand if inspiration strikes at lunch or you have a meeting and you want to be able to access your files. Accessories to come with include chargers, adaptors and of course a protective laptop case. Substitute for a tablet if you like to travel light.


A diary or planner will ensure that all of your appointments are in check, it’s really going to help you organise your entire life. Taking time away from a screen is important, so skip the virtual alternative and bring a pocket diary with you wherever you go.


Well, you’re going to need to be able to write in that diary aren’t you? Bring a ballpoint or fountain pen for a smooth scribble.


We all need to switch off from the hustle and bustle of the outside world sometimes, and these are going to come in very handy when you’re commuting and need to drown out your fellow travellers after a long day at the office.


Fresh breath is a must for dates, coffees with friends or big meetings and presentations. Mints or breath spray are going to get the job done.


Whether this is full of a nice healthy salad, a morning snack or a post workout meal, we all need some Tupperware every now and then. Make sure it’s BPA free and firmly closed to avoid any disasters.

You’ll need some tools to tuck into that tasty meal of yours, and instead of buying throw away plastic invest in some lovely bamboo or metal cutlery that’s stashed in a portable roll up pouch. Meals, with a conscience, are always a bonus.

Speaking of eradicating waste! If you saw a pile of all the coffee cups and plastic lids that you use up from just one month of buying a coffee every day, you’d feel pretty disturbed. Keep cups are affordable and make a big difference in the long run.

Touch Ups

This can be anything from hair brushes and hair ties to makeup or painkillers, whatever you need to feel more like you throughout the day. Stash all your toiletries and touch up essentials in a colourful pencil cases to keep things nice and organised in your bag. It is so annoying trying to find your mascara at the bottom of a massive bag!
