Brake pad is the main component of brakes that apply pressure to the wheels and cause friction which helps in slowing the speed of the vehicle. Brake pads use friction to convert the kinetic energy to the thermal energy. Brake pads together make a capsule called brake caliper, facing the rotor. When the brake is applied, the brake pads press themselves on the rotor, which generates energy to stop the vehicle.
